Non-invasive Hemodynamic Monitoring Systems

Challenge

An International Medical Company was looking for an embedded board that supports a 9.7” touch panel to integrate with peripherals of its non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring system. This embedded board has to have a small form factor to fit the chassis and fanless design for noise free in hospital environment. To ensure reliable operation and provide accurate treatment information, the single board computer must be designed with the most rugged components with a long  life span. In addition, the embedded platform needs to compatible with its special operating system, OBERON.

[Main Requirements]

  • Small form factor embedded motherboard

  • Supports 9.7” LVDS touch panel

  • Compatible with OBERON operating system

  • Rugged design with a long product lifecycle

Solution

The PICO842 is a small-sized, fanless pico-ITX motherboard designed to operate on low-power Intel® Celeron® processors J1900. It features advanced I/O interfaces, including four USB 2.0 ports, two RS-232/422/485 ports, one Gigabit Ethernet port, HD audio interface, and one SATA-300 slot. Additionally, the BIOS can be customized to ensure compatibility with the OBERON operating system.

[Main Features of The System]

  • Low power Intel® Celeron® processor J1900 onboard

  • 4 USB 2.0 ports and 2 COM ports (RS-232/422/485)

  • Customized BIOS for OBERON operating system

  • Compact and fanless design

This non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring system features a 9.7” touch screen. Due to an existing plastic chassis, we need to customize the touch panel kit to fit it. Therefore, we help our customer find qualified vendors to integrate panels, touch and plastic frame into the chassis.

Non-invasive Hemodynamic Monitoring System

This company has chosen PICO842 for building its non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring system. The motherboard features the Intel® Celeron® processor J1900 2.0GHz, 32GB mSATA, 2GB DDR3L RAM. We also customize a touch panel kit to meet the customer’s requirements.

The non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring system features a tablet display that enables touch screen control and displays patient parameters. The data comes from a smart bracelet which is equipped with sensors and a wrist frame. It is placed over the patient’s artery to measure pulse, blood pressure, etc. In addition to continuously monitoring beat-to-beat blood pressure and arterial waveform, operators can also easily view 12-hour trend data.
